Hi, I’m Kayla Kidwell — founder of Easy Renovations, problem-solver, and unofficial therapist for anyone who’s ever tried to live through a remodel.

My experience didn’t come from sitting behind a desk — it came from hard work, plenty of problem-solving, and helping real people figure out how to make their homes actually work for their lives. I’ve learned that a functional living space matters just as much as a beautiful one — because who cares how stunning the tile is if you can’t open the dishwasher without slamming into the oven door? Or if your closet is technically “walk-in” but only if you walk in sideways. Real-life considerations are always at the top of my list (that, and keeping enough coffee on hand to survive a remodel).
So, with my husband Eric (who’s really good with tools and equally good at putting up with me), we started Easy Renovations. Our mission? To make remodeling straightforward, fair, and even enjoyable — yes, enjoyable! We believe your home should reflect you, not a contractor’s bottom line.

This is Eric Kidwell — the other half of Easy Renovations, on-site superhero, master carpenter, and the guy who can pretty much fix, build, or solve anything. If it involves wood, power tools, or heavy lifting, he's your man.

As the main on-site supervisor, Eric makes sure projects run smoothly, the team stays on track, and I mostly stay out of trouble. He measures twice, cuts once, and somehow make it all look effortless — even when unexpected challenges or quirky design requests pop up.

Eric doesn't just build homes; he builds trust, solves problems, and proves that real-life superheroes don’t wear capes — they wear tool belts.

And... I will go ahead and answer the questions every customer asks me - Yes it can be hard, yes we fight sometimes, and no you probably couldn't work with your spouse. With that said - I wouldn't change a thing, we've built the life and company we always wanted.

Since opening our doors in 2013, Easy Renovations has proudly served Northern Virginia as a family-owned, hands-on, sometimes slightly coffee-fueled residential remodeling team. We’ve built our reputation on personal service, guiding our clients through the sometimes overwhelming world of colors, layouts, and design choices — without ever making them feel like they need a PhD in home improvement.
